«Moscow Day in the Moscow State Integrated Museum-Reserve»
5-6 September 2009. This year, Moscow Day was celebrated simultaneously on all the four territories of the Moscow State Integrated Museum-Reserve.
A picturesque performance consisting of several parts took place on a little field in front of the Palace of the Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich. Each part of the program was dedicated to one prominent event in the Russian history, viz. the Battle of Kulikovo (the Golden Horde times, 14th century), the Battle of Poltava (the Great Northern War, 18th century), the Battle of Borodino (the Patriotic War of 1812), and the Battle for Moscow (1941-1942).
The program opened by a solemn Te Deum in memory of Saint Metropolitan Peter, Prince Dmitry Donskoy, and other Russian warriors who gave their lives for the Holy Russian land and the Orthodox faith.
